Small Business Checkup
We are all about helping our clients create and drive business value by increasing free cash flow. Everything you do has a direct impact on cash, either positively or negatively, but we often don't really think about some of these impacts.
We like to start with a Small Business Checkup, which is an objective and unbiased assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the business. Normally it takes one to three days, and it starts with few-hour interview with the business owners and key personnel. We get as much information as we can about the business, its history, the short and long-term business goals and any other preferences management might have. We will review all appropriate operations, processes and systems currently being used in the company and identify opportunities for improvement, showing how they influence the returns and the ability to grow.
At the end we will present you with a comprehensive operational and financial report, detailing as much as the last five years, and we will identify any troubling or positive trends that have developed in the business, and highlight some of the "low hanging fruit" available in terms of organizational improvements. To the maximum extent possible we will incorporate comparisons with other companies similar in type and size.
Management is usually busy running the business and has little time to look at the company from above, with an objective view. The Small Business Checkup will provide you with an action plan prioritized to the initiatives that have the greatest potential for increasing free cash flow. We will then work side-by-side with management creating and implementing the strategic, financial and operational plans that will bring your shareholders the returns they desire.
